½ cup warm water
1 tsp dry active yeast
1¼ tblsp sugar, fine white
1 large egg, beaten
2¼ cups four, all purpose
3/4 tsp salt
1¼ tblsp butter, softened
1 tsp milk or water or melted butter
Combine the first 4 ingredients, then add the beaten egg.
Mix the salt in with the flour. Add to thewet ingredients.
Now add the softened butter.
Let rise, punch down, let rise a second time. Punch down. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper, divide up the dough into four portions. roll each portion into a ball and let rest on the parment lined sheet pan. Let rise until bun shaped in size, about 30 min to an hour.
Brush the top of the bun with an eggwash, be careful not to deflate the risen dough.
Bake at 425° for 8 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
